Can you export your code from Softr? No, but here is what you can take
Softr has no code to export: it says there is no generated code behind a Softr app, and it does not currently offer self-hosting, so the app stays on Softr. Data kept in Airtable, Google Sheets or another source you connected never moved: Softr says it does not store or sync it. Data in Softr Databases comes out through a Download button you add to a Table block, as CSV or Excel, or through the Softr Database API, and your app's user list downloads as CSV.
From Softr's own docs, read 2026-10-26. Every step links to the page it is from.
Data in Softr Databases, from a Table block
- A block connects to one Softr Databases table, so use a Table block for each table you want out: in its Block source tab, select Softr Databases, then pick the database. (source)
- On the Table block, add a topbar button and choose Download as the action type. (source)
- The button exports the table data as a CSV file or an Excel spreadsheet. (source)
Data in Softr Databases, through the API
- In your Softr dashboard, click your workspace in the top-left corner and go to API tokens. Click Create, name the token, pick an expiration period and its scopes, click Continue, and copy it: it is shown only once. (source)
- List your databases with GET https://tables-api.softr.io/api/v1/databases, with the token in the Softr-Api-Key header. (source)
- Get a table's records with GET https://tables-api.softr.io/api/v1/databases/{databaseId}/tables/{tableId}/records?fieldNames=true, which names each field. Page through with offset and limit, at most 200 a page, until offset reaches the total in the response. (source)
Your app's users
- In Softr Studio, click the Users tab in the top toolbar, select the users and choose to download the user list as a CSV file. (source)
What comes out
- Data kept in Airtable, Google Sheets or another source you connected stays in that source: Softr does not store or sync it, though it caches it for 24 hours. (source)
- A Table block's export takes the records visible in it. (source)
- Through the API, each record comes as JSON, its fields keyed by field ID, or by name with fieldNames=true. (source)
- The Users tab shows each user's email, name, created time, status and user groups, and how they were created and sign in. (source)
What stays behind, and needs replacing
- The app itself: Softr says there is no generated code behind it. (source)
- Softr does not currently offer self-hosting. (source)
- A database snapshot is a copy inside Softr: restoring one creates a new Softr database. (source)
- Files in File fields are stored in Softr, up to 128 MB each, with storage limits set by your plan. (source)
- Cancel a paid plan and your site stays as it is, paid features included, on the Free plan, Softr's FAQ says. (source)
Not on Softr's pages
- A way to export a Softr Databases table straight from the database, without a block in an app or the API.
- How to download all the files in File fields at once.
- Whether the user list CSV holds anything that lets your users sign in somewhere else, such as password hashes.
How SPOE differs
- The whole project. A SPOE export is the whole project: the code, the Docker files that start it and, for a full-stack app, its database migrations, with a signed provenance manifest and the verifier inside. It starts with docker compose up, with nothing of SPOE inside, so there is nothing of ours to replace.
- Signed and recorded. Every export is signed by SPOE: an Ed25519-signed provenance manifest, with a record of it on APIR's hash-chained log. APIR is a sister company of SPOE, run by the same founder. spoe.ai/verify checks every file and that spoe.ai signed it, in your browser, so anyone can prove the code is exactly what was exported.
- Yours for good. Your first payment of any size unlocks export permanently, whether or not you ever pay again. Locked or not, the code is always visible and copyable in the editor.
- Coming from Softr. SPOE does not import a Softr project. If the app is live and you can show the site is yours, with a DNS record, a file on it or a tag in its pages, Bring your site copies the page at that address, with its styles and pictures, into a SPOE project to keep building; the data and the logic behind it are not copied. Otherwise, describe the app to SPOE and it is built as a Next.js, Fastify and Postgres project you hold. Keep your Softr export either way: it is yours.
